Lewellyn Anthony Gonsalvez

Like major of the fresh college graduates of this generation, Anthony was pretty clueless after finishing his Literature degree from Madras Christian College. Instead of settling down for anything that came his way, he experimented with things that caught his fancy. Following the suggestions of his friends, he tried his hand at animation and enrolled for an animation course from Prasad Studio.  While learning animation, he got exposed to editing also. He realized that editing was something he enjoyed doing and began pursuing it as a full time career. He slowly began to get offers to work on corporate ads, trailers and documentaries from 1993 for Edit Point till 2004. He collaborated with lead ing ad film makers like Rajiv Menon. 

His turning point happened when he was given a project wherein he had to edit a song from “Kaakha Kaakha” by Gautam Vasudev Menon. The director was so impressed with his work that he was offered to work as an editor for the entire movie. He has since gone on to work with some of the biggest names of Tamil cinema like  Shankar, AR Murugadoss, Gautham Menon, Linguswamy, K. V. Anand and A. L. Vijay. Some of his noteable works include Kaakha kaakha, Sivaji, Vaaranam Aayiram, Renikunta and Paandiya Naadu

He has at present turned his attention to direction and has begun the pre-production on a venture featuring Sathyaraj in the lead role. Anthony is proof that it is okay to keep searching for something you like instead of settling down for anything less
